About Me
Video and Interview by J. Adam Wyatt Productions
My name is John and I am a goaltending coach for Wolfe Hockey in the Maryland-Virginia-DC area. For the past four years I have been the head goalie coach for the Montgomery Youth Hockey Association in Montgomery County. MD. I grew up playing goalie, began coaching when I was about 15 years old, and have continued to do so in some capacity for the past 15 years. I played youth hockey in New Jersey before going to Penn State University and graduating with a degree in Architectural Engineering (I did not play competitive hockey at PSU).

As a goalie, I was never the biggest or fastest in net so I had to rely on sound positioning and rebound control. My nerdy engineering mind loves the technical aspects of goaltending - finding the most efficient way to stop the puck and control the game - and I love looking into and dissecting different aspects of the game and challenging common thinking when it comes to how we look at the position.
